Welcome to the first issue of Abattoir Presents. For it, we have chosen a story by Justin Macumber of the Dead Robots Society podcast.
“In The Deep Dark” is a keen example of the sort of psychological horror I love. He builds good atmosphere and gets at the core of one of our primal fears. Something wicked is at the heart of the Bluestone Mine and unfortunate things follow. This is a prequel of sorts to a novel that Justin will be putting out, and I look forward to it.

Great story, but neither of the podcast links are working.
Heard about Justin’s story on Tim Ward’s website (http://timothycward.com/) but I can’t get the any of the audio links to work either (and the “Download” link takes us to Scott Roche’s site… I smell a conspiracy).
