Expectations

August 16, 2010

Inspired by a post by Elizabeth at b10mediaworx.com on “Enhanced” e-books, I thought I’d ask you, our cherished readers, what you expect from us now that you’ve (in theory) seen our first effort. We want to make this process as seamless/painless as possible and in order to do that we need to know what we’ve done right and what we need to improve upon.

Just so you know what changes are coming down the pipe thanks to some feedback and some brainstorming on our part, I offer the following:

  • An “album” of sorts, letting you download the entire audio file with each story as a discrete MP3 file so that you can pick and choose which ones to listen to and in what order. We will still be offering a big MP3 file and the MP4. The advantage to the latter includes chapter breaks to let you skip ahead to stories that you want to listen to again.
  • Our presence in a wider variety of formats and outlets. As was posted about here, you can get us through the Kindle store and soon the Apple store. Smashwords will also help us with providing you with alternate formats.

So now it’s your turn. What are your expectation for Flagship (or any of the e-zines/e-pubs you read)? How can we up our game? We can take the heat and we’re here to stay so don’t hold back.

As grist for the mill…

What do you think about advertisements?
We’ve talked about including poetry/non-fiction articles. Would you like to see some of that?
Is there such a thing as too much content?
Would you like to see audio only or text only specials?

These are all part of conversations we’ve had behind the scenes and we’d like to know what you think.
