UnKillable by Patrick E. McLean – A Review

Unkillable by Patrick E. McLean My rating: 4 of 5 stars This is not really a zombie story. That is the first thing I want to say. And for that I am really grateful. I have never really been a fan of the while zombie thing. No, it isn’t a Zombie book, Unkillable is a

The Janus Affair: Another Book Review

To my regular nonexistent readers it will come as no surprise that I’m reviewing an audio book. And because my fellow editor at Flying Island Press recently reveiwed this book, this will be short, as I don’t feel I need to cross much of the same territory. If you haven’t read his review, you may

Book Review: Darkship Thieves by Susan Hoyt

The other day, someone pointed out a blog post written by Sarah Hoyt on the IPG / Amazon conflict, and as I started reading I immediately thought to myself: “Who IS this?” And I immediately started looking for her books. Darkship Thieves is exactly what the blurb says – Heinlein-esque pulpy goodness. The story involves

“Nineteen-Eighty-Four” or “Hunger Games:1949″ by George Orwell

“Nineteen-Eighty-Four”, or “Hunger Games: 1949″, by George Orwell In my continuing effort to become more grounded in classic science fiction I went back to the internet. Random Ruminations Remotely Related to wRiting

Vampires By: Philip (Norval Joe) Carroll I can’t be a vampire at the moment, I’m reflecting. I’m writing a ‘vampire’ story right now, so they’re on my mind. But they’re not what I am currently reflecting upon. The Autism Benefit Issue is out now and available to purchase for a mere $2.99. We had a

Galaxybillies Review

Ever since I listened to his podcast Galaxybillies, Mike Plested has been after me to write a review for it. It is not that I didn’t want to write a review, or that I didn’t like the podast or anything like that, the truth is that I hadn’t written a review because I stink at

Video Book Review – Battle of the Labyrinth

Percy Jackson and the Olympians Book 4: The Battle of the Labyrinth is a fun read, as are all the Percy Jackson books I’ve read, and not as thick and intimidating as the Harry Potter books. A rollicking good yarn, full of all of those things we love in Greek Myths.
